The Official AAU Missouri Valley District Championship is now posted. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail us at movalleyaau@yahoo.com. Please provide us with your name and a phone number so that we can contact you. All athletes and parents affiliated with a team must go through their head coach. Only Unattached athletes and parents may contact us directly.
Please do not contact us with questions or concerns unless you have read this entire page and the Performance List Explanation. At that point, you are welcome to call if you have any questions not answered here or in the document.
All athletes listed are eligible for consideration to compete in the AAU MV Meet unless they already have their maximum number of events allowed. There are 12 athletes listed in most events excluding the state meet qualifiers. Using these 12 athletes we will try to complete a full field of 16 competitors in each event. Athletes with the best marks on the performance list will be considered first and moved into the heat with the state automatic qualifiers should an opening occur there. Should they choose not to participate in a particular event their spot will be given to the next athlete listed. Please note that some events have fewer total competitors than the 16 we are striving for.
All state meet qualifiers were required to fill out their entry form at their respective state meet. Those state meet qualifiers (the top 4 finishers) must continue on in the event(s) that they qualified in at the state meet. The only exception to this rule is if they choose to compete on a relay for their team. Their spot in the individual event that they choose to drop will then be given to the next athlete on the performance list.
If a state meet qualifier is now eligible for another event based on the performance list they must e-mail us at movalleyaau@yahoo.com with a subject line; Final Entry Update. Their e-mail must be received by noon, Monday, June 18th. Their new event will be added to their entry form already at the AAU MV Meet headquarters. Please remember that all age groups "Midget" and younger may only compete in a maximum of three events while all older age groups may compete in a maximum of four events.
When reviewing the performance list please note that if your athlete would be guaranteed a spot in the field of 16 then he/she is expected to pay the $15 entry fee if they have not already done so. For example if there are 8 state qualifiers then there would be 8 guaranteed qualifiers from the performance list. If there are 7 state qualifiers then there would be 9 guaranteed qualifiers from the performance list of 12.
EXAMPLE: The Midget Boys 1500 Meter Run only has two automatic qualifiers from the Missouri State Meet while the full slate of four qualified from the Kansas State Meet. Since there are only 12 more athletes on the performance list for the Midget Boys 1500 Meter Run 10 athletes are guaranteed entry into the MV AAU Meet.
Those athletes listed though not guaranteed a spot still must submit an entry form without payment. When the declaration list for the meet is posted, hopefully by next Wednesday, they will see if they are able to participate. They will be expected to bring their payment with them to registration should they be allowed to compete.
Should an athlete be entering the meet for the first time, they must submit the Performance List Qualifier Entry Form along with a check for $15, which must be postmarked by Thursday, June 14th. They will be entered into the AAU MV Meet when their entry form is received.
NOTE: There are no ties in the running events for 8th place. There are a couple of ties for the 8th spot in the field events and both athletes will be allowed to participate in the MV AAU Meet.
Remember that all racewalks and steeplechase competitors are allowed to participate at each meet through the AAU Region VIII Meet. These events are included in the performance list to give those competitors the opportunity to see where they rank. All athletes regardless of whether they have participated in either the steeplechase or the racewalk may join the event at anytime up to and including the Region VIII Meet.
Also, the MV AAU Meet is the first meet that relays must qualify in to go on. Coaches if you have any more relays that you want to enter they must be postmarked by Thursday, June 14th as well.
